ISO Foundations

Are you familiar with ISO?  Perhaps you know the ISO 9000 series of standards for manufacturing.  Did  you know that there is ISO 20000 for IT standards?  Since 2005 ISO/IEC 20000 (ISO 20000 or ISO 20K) has been the international quality standard for IT Service Management. The ISO 20000 Certificate, which is issued to organizations, not individuals, confirms the organization has demonstrated sufficient evidence of a quality ITSM Program.  However, you, as an individual, can take and pass an ISO 20000 class and certification exam, demonstrating your proficiency in this area.

For organizations not immediately seeking ISO/IEC 20000 certification, the ISO/IEC 20000 Foundation training provides an international standard of best practices against which to benchmark your current ITSM and Service Quality Management programs. Two of the biggest IT Service Management challenges  are obtaining the attention and commitment of senior management, and ensuring acceptance of the changes or changed processes. These obstacles (sometimes they are actually roadblocks!)  may be overcome by using this standard to benchmark capability of delivering services, measuring service levels and assessing performance.

If you are actively seeking ISO/IEC 20000 Certification as a competitive advantage, this training course helps accelerate the audit process by partially meeting the standard's Competency, Awareness and Training requirements.
